Comments about what others thinks of Mao Zedong
On skyscraper.com no1gizmo commented..."Mao Zedong was the biggest destroyer of Mainland China. Just compare the economical development of Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan with the communists leaded by Mao Zedong. (but no.... of course the foreigners are blamed)
If Mao Zedong was still alive, the PR of China would be nothing more than a bigger North Korea (like it was 50 years ago). For me it is not important how he looks like, but its important what he has done. Anyway, I do NOT believe in the big advantage Mao gave to China. He just used the KMT (which made even more for China that time of the WWII). Without Mao, China had developed much better and earlier. And the Cultural Revolution was the biggest mistake made by him. I really don’t know why Chinese people can forgive this mistake and accept his picture on the RMB and anywhere in China..."
I think that Mao benefited China, although I do not agree with some of the methods he used. I think that the cultural revolution was an exaggeration of his power, displaying that just because he was in power he could do whatever he wanted.
